United Methodist Communities (UMC) is pleased to announce the appointment of Robert Peterson to the position of vice president finance and chief financial officer.
In this role, Mr. Peterson, a resident of Bridgewater, New Jersey, will direct the overall financial plans and accounting practices for United Methodist Communities and its 13 statewide sites.
Among his duties, Mr. Peterson oversees the financial and accounting system controls and standards, ensuring timely statistical reports for leadership to assist in meeting UMC’s strategic objectives. He also develops strategies for capital structure and works with investor stakeholders to achieve optimal financing.
Mr. Peterson reports to President and CEO, Larry Carlson, who states, “Robert is a self-starter who excels in developing talent, anticipating and resolving issues, implementing process improvements, and working in a highly regulated environment.”
Mr. Peterson earned a Bachelor of Science in Accounting from Wagner College, Staten Island, New York. As an experienced professional with over 28 years’ progressive experience, Mr. Peterson is a licensed certified public accountant in New Jersey.
His current professional memberships include the New Jersey State Society of Certified Public Accountants and the New Jersey Chapter of the Healthcare Financial Management Association, which he previously served as board member, treasurer, and secretary.
