Great Place to Work Institute and its senior care partner, Activated Insights, have honored United Methodist Communities with certification as a Great Place to Work for the fifth year in a row. As in previous years, the certification process involved surveying employees from across all UMC’s locations and evaluating more than 60 elements of team members’ on the job experience. These markers included employee pride in the organization’s community impact, belief that their work makes a difference, and feeling their work has special meaning. Rankings are based on employees’ experiences, no matter which community they serve or what their role entails.
UMC aptly announced their fifth consecutive certification to associates at on-site celebrations held on May 5th. President & CEO Larry Carlson commented, “I am so proud of our associates who continue to serve our residents every day with this level of commitment and passion despite such challenging times. This achievement affirms our mission and belief that our associates compassionately serve in community so that all can choose abundant life.”
Carlson shared the following survey findings as evidence of associates’ deep connection with UMC’s mission: 87% of associated affirmed that their work has special meaning, while 85% reported that when they look at what they accomplish, they feel a sense of pride. 85% of survey respondents also asserted that they feel good about the ways in which they contribute to the larger community.
“We applaud United Methodist Communities for seeking recertification and publicly sharing its employees’ feedback,” said Dr. Jacquelyn Kung, of Great Place to Work’s senior care partner Activated Insights. “These ratings measure its capacity to earn its own employees’ trust and create a great workplace for high performance.”
