United Methodist Communities Promotes Two Leaders

United Methodist Communities (UMC) announces the promotion of two key leaders, Deborah Walsh and Pamela Garofolo, effectively immediately.

Deborah Walsh has been promoted to corporate director of homecare services and oversees HomeWorks, as well as initiatives related to homecare products such as technologies, care management and other in-home support services. Ms. Walsh, who resides in the Borough of Point Pleasant, NJ, has worked for UMC since the Homecare division began in 2016.UM-Communities-Deborah-Walsh-215x300.jpgA graduate of Saint Clare’s School of Nursing, Ms. Walsh brings over 20 years’ experience in nursing, rehabilitation, home care, and family services. In addition to Registered Nurse licensure in New York and New Jersey, she holds a Master of Public Administration from Baruch College and a Bachelor of Science in Health Care Management from Long Island University. Her administrative experience includes positions as an intake supervisor, director of patient services, quality director, and marketing director.

Pamela Garofolo, promoted to corporate director of tapestries, continues to provide resources and oversight to the Tapestries® Memory Care programming at all UMC sites including HomeWorks. In 2008, Ms. Garofolo began as the director of memory support at UMC at The Shores (Ocean City). Since then, she has developed and refined UMC’s memory care, impacting residents, clients and their families, organization wide.

Ms. Garofolo, a resident of Galloway Township, NJ, holds an M.A. in Counseling Psychology, and is a Nationally Certified Counselor, Certified Assisted Living Administrator, and Nationally Certified Dementia Practitioner. She began working with individuals with dementia and related neurocognitive disorders in 1994 and has a passion for sharing caregivers with practical tips and tools.
